Public Meeting Regarding Proposed Regional Connector Service from Yuma to El Centro

Notice is hereby given that a public workshop will be held by the Quechan Economic Development Administration (EDA) in conjunction with the Yuma County Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority (YCIPTA) and Imperial County Transportation Commission (ICTC) to invite public comment on a proposed new bus route to El Centro from Yuma and through Winterhaven and the proposed elimination of Imperial Valley Transit (IVT) Routes 300/350.

The proposals are in connection with the Quechan Indian Tribe’s planned Regional Connector.  The Regional Connector is the third transit service concept in the Tribal Transit Program Grant that EDA is managing. The proposed new route would replace the current IVT Route that operates on Wednesdays from Winterhaven with an YCAT route that would operate between 3 to 5 days each week from Paradise Casino, through Winterhaven and the Quechan Casino Resort.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Quechan Community Center - 604 Picacho Road, Winterhaven, CA.

The meeting location is accessible via YCAT Blue 5 or YCAT OnCall by making a reservation to 928-539-7076.

Additional details on the proposed changes can be obtained by contacting the Quechan EDA.

We invite the public to comment on the implementation a regional connector route. For further information or to comment, please contact Allyson Collins, EDA Specialist, Quechan Indian Tribe, PO BOX 1899, Yuma, AZ 85366, email a.collins@quechantribe.com, call 760.572.5270 or fax to 760.572.0519.
