the Yuma County Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority (YCIPTA) in partnership with Quechan Indian Tribe and Imperial County Transportation Commission (ICTC) will be implementing a new transit service to connecting downtown El Centro, Quechan Casino Resort, Winterhaven, CA, downtown Yuma, AZ and the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation ending at the Paradise Casino.
The once-weekly Imperial Valley Transit (IVT) Route 3 extension between Holtville, CA and Winterhaven, CA on Wednesdays will be discontinued on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 and replaced by YCAT Turquoise Route 10 on Monday, January 7, 2013.

The Yuma County Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority (YCIPTA) is in need to make service changes to improve the overall reliability and performance of the routes. There will be reduction in route miles to several routes. In addition, three new services/routes are proposed for implementation. Join us for the new YCAT Holiday GOAround holiday light tour! This new service will operate on Friday, December 21, Saturday, December 22 and Sunday, December 23, 2012 departing the Downtown Yuma Transit Center at 7:30 p.m. returning one and half hour later. Free parking is available at the parking lot across the street from the Transit Center located at 200 Gila Street (corner of 3rd Street and Gila Street) at the historic Hotel Del Sol building.
Holiday music and hot beverages will be provided on board buses. The best holiday lights will be visited in central Yuma. The fare for this service will be $2.00 one way for adults and $1.00 for students, seniors, persons with disabilities and Medicare card holders. Regular 1-Day, 10-Ride, and 31-Day Passes are accepted on the route.

Yuma County Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority (YCIPTA) and Yuma Community Food Bank will partner on holding the 1st ever Stuff the Bus food drive to drive away hunger in Yuma County. Starting on Monday, November 12, 2012 through Saturday, December 15, 2012, any time someone brings a non-perishable food donation on board a Yuma County Area Transit (YCAT) bus, a free ride would be provided.
The food collected in this year’s campaign will go toward feeding thousands of Yuma County residents this holiday season.YCIPTA and Yuma Community Food Bank are proud to serve our community through the annual Stuff the Bus food drive and to assist the food banks in feeding the area’s hungry during the holiday season.

UA students, facility and employees of the UA-Yuma Campus are eligible to purchase a transit sticker for use on the Yuma County Area Transit (YCAT) bus system. The cost of the sticker is $5.00 and can be purchased from Tanya Hodges, Coordinator, and Academic Outreach Programs in the Ag & Science Bldg. 137 & 138. The painting of the buses would take place over a period of time, when buses are going through a mid-life overhaul or when buses are replaced to reduce costs.
